“Everyone has the right to belong.” Maha Mamo’s journey from statelessness to belonging

What does it mean to belong? Is it the country you live in, the university you attend, the job you have? Maha Mamo was born in Lebanon to Syrian parents.

She didn’t belong to Lebanon, and she didn’t belong to Syria. She was born stateless. For nearly 30 years, she asked herself and the world the same question: Where do I belong?
